The following is an email Q&A between Crunchyroll host Tim Lyu and Matthew & Ryan of the California Conventions Blog.
Enjoy!
Given all the time and research into developing your timeline
and/or history of a given series, what were the hardest challenges and
aspects of creating and producing an episode?
The
hardest challenge for me is definitely making sure all the information
is correct… I still mess up sometimes though… So I’m sorry to all the
Crunchyroll YouTube audience… ALSO a big challenge for me is the
pronunciation of names… I’m really not the best in that aspect… So sorry
again...
From throwing prolific anime
bars with ThaGodSquad to transitioning to a career at Crunchyroll, what
led you to pursue this new line or profession?
LMAO
THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING #THAGODSQUAD… This is kind of a boring answer
cause I was just looking for a new job and my good friend let me know
that there was an opening for a Crunchyroll host position, so I applied
and then once I got the job I moved from LA to Oakland to start my Crunchy profession.
If you could
collaborate with any Japanese artist and/or producer for an anime-based
rap song and/or album, who would you want to throw down with?
Ooooh…
I would love to work with ShinichirÅ Watanabe… His work on Samurai
Champloo was one of the biggest inspirations for me when me and my
friend created #THAGODSQUAD. So… Watanabe-sensei if you’re reading this
somehow… Please… hit me up...
