It's safe to say that this moment has been a long time coming. It's been three years since I came back to Anime Expo, and the two years following that have been nothing short of disappointment from all ends, at least from my point of view, when it came to reporting from this convention.
When the opportunity came to press from this year's Anime Expo, I was certainly ready for the chip on my shoulder that would be placed on me. I brought people that are willing to put the work and effort into making a great press team. Also, things are much better than they were the last time an Anime Expo passed by me. My financial situation is much better, and I had just graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachleor's in Economics. In a way, this was my graduation gift. There would be time to party and celebrate, especially with the events that transpired during the convention that would call for a party and celebration. But on the other hand, there was some unfinished business that I would need to take care this year.
In the words of the great Reggie Fils-Aime, "my body [was] ready."
