I've been quiet for a while now, huh? Well, now that Jackie and I are almost-but-not-quite settled down with all of life's chaos, I finally have time to begin a new project that Matt and I are working on.
"What project is that?" you might ask me. The answer is very simple, and also very, very cool.
Matt and I have been planning to expand the CaliConBlog's area of coverage to include a few out-of-state con selections, which means we'll be road tripping soon. I've been chosen to scout a convention in Dallas, Texas this coming Labor Day Weekend. The rest of the crew would of attended Anime Vegas if it was this weekend; the convention moved to November to Veteran's Day Weekend and away from the summer heat that plagued most of the cosplayers last year. After that, Avi and I plan to cover PMX like we always do, but this time with the Canadian in tow.
The fall season is going to be very busy, but we're all really excited anyway. I mean, can't you see how much rambling I've already done?
AFest is a con that has been plugged to me by some out-of-state buddies from college as well as other networking media I use, and I've been hearing some amazing things about it for three years now, so I applied for press. Unfortunately, I was not awarded a special pass, but that won't stop me from going there to check it out!
I'll be catching a Greyhound bus tomorrow to get there early so I can visit some fellow cosplayers and do some sight-seeing before con, so I've got a crazy week ahead of me, I'm sure.
From CCB's SoCal Team Newsroom, this is Zanney the new Head Writer, telling you to stay out of this crazy heat if you can and keep it cool!
How funny, Zanney; at one point my dad lived in Texas, and my girlfriend lives in Austin. X3
